The Chesapeake Bay has it all. Burgeoning with Native American and European History, an estuary beyond compare, The Bay is home to thousands of species of fish, crustaceans, mollusks, birds, mammals and plants. Connected to fresh and salt water, and a variety of temperature and salinity breaks, the waters themselves are some of the most hospitable places for fish in the world. The Maryland Crab and Rockfish are icons of our state and demand our attention and care. They are also two of the tastiest and most amazing organisms you will come in contact with.
As we are all aware by now, the bay is in danger of overpopulation, pollution, silting, runoff, and over harvesting of bait fish which leads to an under abundance of game fish. Back Creek Charters is committed to educating the young and old about the beauty of this fragile ecosystem. Only by experiencing this extraordinary body of water first hand can we educate our behaviors to save the bay and understand our part in the ecosystem.
Captain Pat Love is an educator who understands that the best way to change culture is by persuading one person at a time. His charters are ecologically and educationally focused to discover the beauty and intricacies of the bay and to convince each person of the importance of our responsibility in the midst of it all. Setting out into unknown territory has always stoked our sense of adventure. Adventure is at the heart of education and leads us to know what is good and how to preserve it. Come and See!
